In fact this benefit is demonstrated by a 2013 study on the effect of cannabis on metabolic systems, comparing non-users with consumers. –Above all, study analyzed some blood chemistry parameters of 4,652 participants and, in conclusion, its evidence showed that regular CBD users exhibited higher blood levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL).

Moreover, a recent study (Nguyen, Yang, Nicolaescu et Al, 2022) showed that CBD and its metabolite 7-OH-CBD, block the replication of SARS-cov-2 in the pulmonary epithelial cells of laboratory mice. First of all, CBD acts after the virus enters the cells, inhibiting gene expression and reversing many effects of SARS-cov-2 on host gene transcription. CBD also inhibits SARS-cov-2 replication by over-regulating the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response of IRE1α host ribonuclease and interferon signaling pathways. Further, in homogenous test groups of human patients of the National COVID Cohort Collaborative, a negative association was demonstrated between positive SARS-cov-2 tests and CBD administration (100 mg oral solution per patient, equivalent to ten drops of NegEnt). In conclusion, this study shows that CBD may be a potential preventative agent for SARS-cov-2 infection at an early stage and merits some more adequate scientific investigation in the near future.
